Myvi-Best Car in Malaysia

The Perodua Myvi has been the best-selling model in the national car brand segment ever since its launch back in year 2005. It has sold more than 800,000 units to date, and Perodua plans to break the 1 million mark by next year. It is popular as a first car for young adults, and remains so even when compared to other competitors. The Perodua Myvi recently received a facelift along with other models in the Perodua stable. The prices start at RM41,000 for the base G variant and goes up to RM58,000 for the Advance variant.

The basic Myvi comes with a 1.3L engine which produces 90 bhp @ 6000 RPM and 117 Nm of torque @ 4400 RPM. In the SE variant, it is equipped with a 1.5L engine which produces 102 bhp @ 6000 RPM and 136 Nm of torque @ 4400 RPM. Both engines are carried over from the pre-facelift Myvi, adding on the e-AT transmission. The gearbox in the e-AT transmission is individually controlled by another unit for improved fuel efficiency.

Safety wise, the Myvi only comes with 2 airbags as standard across the range. If you want to have ABS, you will need to stretch your budget and get the X Premium variant. The G and the X Premium variants share the same multi reflector headlamp and a subtle bodykit design, whereas the SE and Advance variants use projector headlamps with LED guide lights and a sportier bodykit.

The Myvi is a step up from the Axia with bigger interior and boot space. Aside from that, it also has bigger engine capacity for those who find the Axia underwhelming in power. The Myvi has been a faithful first car for many, and it still manages to capture hearts and wallets in its latest generation.
