Axia- Great Car

Perodua Axia is the most affordable car you can buy in Malaysia. Prices start from only RM25,000 for the most affordable variant, the Standard E variant, and peaks at RM 42,000 for the top variant, Advance variant. That’s less than the price of some decent motorcycles. The Axia comes with a little puny 1.0L engine, which produces 66 bhp @ 6000 RPM and 90 Nm of torque @ 3600 RPM. Not bad for a quick city run or a drive around town with your family in the car. As for the interior, the Perodua Axia boasts similar space to the Perodua Myvi despite being an A segment car. Its boot space accommodates up to 4 travelling suitcases.

In the safety department, the Axia comes with only 2 SRS Airbags across the range. If you need the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), you’ll have to get the Axia SE variant at RM37,000. If you’re in for a bare basic car, the E variant or G variant will suit you fine. You also get a more sporty fascia for the SE or Advance variants compared to the E and G variants.

The Axia is qualified as an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV). This means its manufactured using environmental-friendly equipment and materials for tax reduction, allowing for the use of the 1.0L engine across the variants instead of smaller engines for the cheaper variants.

The Axia is an excellent choice for first time car buyers as the price tag is very affordable, even for students or fresh grads in their first job. The maintenance is relatively low as well. As for driving, it’s easy to maneuver around city traffic and great for parking. Overall, we’d say it’s good enough given the low price tag.
